Plot of Episode 12

This episode follows the protagonist Shen Nian, who is bullied by her family on a rainy night and is forcefully rescued by her "uncle," Pei Sinian. Pei Sinian warns Shen Nian's brothers, Shen Huaijin and Shen Huaizhou, that he will seek justice for Shen Nian. Shen Huaizhou speaks disrespectfully to Shen Nian and is reprimanded on the spot by his elder brother, Shen Huaijin, but he remains unrepentant. Later, the two brothers are shocked to learn at the hospital that Shen Nian suffers from severe stomach problems due to long-term malnutrition. Just as Shen Huaijin is about to sign as next of kin, the nurse conveys Shen Nian's wishes, stating that her only relative is Pei Sinian, leaving the brothers in an awkward and stunned situation.
