Plot of Episode 4
As a child, Paisley Rose was separated from her beloved Justin Wagner, when the Wagners fell from grace, and his promise to return became her lifelong obsession. Years later, living under the alias Serein as a reclusive artist, she is exploited by her family—her parents and sister Bella Rose—and forced to maintain her engagement to Parker Erickson, who bears a striking resemblance to Justin, serving as an emotional stand-in to help her cope while she raises money for her nurse Violet Smith’s life-saving surgery. By chance, she meets Justin, who hints at their shared past through intimate childhood memories, but due to his removed scar, she remains uncertain of his true identity. When Violet’s condition takes a turn for the worse, Justin steps in, covering the full cost of the surgery and bringing in top specialists, finally revealing his true self and exposing the truth behind the Wagners’ downfall—one entwined with the conspiracies of both the Ericksons and Roses.
