The episode opens with a fierce confrontation. Shen Ning's sister, Shen Baozhu, and her ex-boyfriend, Lin Hao, are publicly mocking Shen Ning, spreading rumors that she is going on a blind date with a poor old man earning a mere 2800 yuan a month, and humiliating her two children. Just as Shen Baozhu and Lin Hao are basking in their triumph, the children's father, the "Crown Prince of the Beijing Circle," Lu Yunshen, makes a dramatic entrance. Shen Baozhu attempts to badmouth Shen Ning to Lu Yunshen, falsely accusing her of impersonating his wife. However, Lu Yunshen publicly defends the children, takes Shen Ning's hand, and declares that she is his wife, completely turning the tables and leaving Shen Baozhu and Lin Hao stunned on the spot.
