In the dead of night, Li Weixi confronts Jia He in the office. Initially, Jia He dismisses Li Weixi as too ambitious and unqualified. However, Li Weixi is prepared, pointing out that despite Jia He's nominal control of the Jia Group, real power rests with his stepmother, Wang Meilin, and his favored younger brother, Jia Mu, who has returned to the country. Jia He is facing a crisis of his authority being undermined. Using this as leverage, Li Weixi presents a two-month-long risk assessment of the Mo Group's (Jia He's intended marriage partner) financial flows as his bargaining chip. Finally, Li Weixi gently mends the cuff of Jia He's sleeve, demonstrating sharp insight and execution. He then asks again if he is qualified, intensifying the game of strategy and tension between them.
