At a banquet, Lin Wan staged a fall, successfully framing Lu Dong'er. Zhao Juncheng, who believed Lin Wan, was furious and locked Lu Dong'er in the woodshed for reflection. That night, Lin Wan sneaked into the woodshed with her subordinates. Not only did she confess her ambition to eliminate Lu Dong'er and take her place as "Mrs. Zhao," but she also ordered her men to strangle Lu Dong'er, intending to make it look like a suicide. In despair, Lu Dong'er struggled and vowed revenge on Lin Wan even as a ghost. She was brutally murdered, while Lin Wan showed no remorse and had already planned her perfect excuse to escape.

A modern career woman accidentally time travels to the 1980s after a car accident, possessing the body of Lu Dong'er, an "ugly wife" who was abused to death by her husband Zhao Juncheng and his mistress Lin Wan. The reborn Lu Dong'er is full of confidence. Not only does she heal her former disability, but she also uses her sharp methods to make the guilty Zhao and Lin mistakenly believe she has "come back from the dead." Faced with Lin Wan's hypocrisy and Zhao Juncheng's violence, Lu Dong'er refuses to endure any longer. She even stops her friend Dani from intervening when she arrives, deciding to fight back herself. Lin Wan, seeing Lu Dong'er alive, shamelessly threatens her to return to the countryside, unaware that the Lu Dong'er before her has a new soul and is preparing to turn this "bad hand" into a "royal flush."

She sternly orders Lu Dong'er to attend the birthday banquet to set the record straight and threatens Zhao Juncheng with the "position of family head," igniting an imminent conflict.

Meanwhile, Lu Dong'er, accompanied by her friend Da Ni, successfully regains her graceful figure through yoga and preserves her appearance. Facing the invitation from the Zhao family, Lu Dong'er puts on a veil and calmly handles the situation, officially kicking off a dramatic revenge play of exposing lies and making a glorious comeback.
