Episode 1 - CEO of Payback

Episode 2 - CEO of Payback

On the day of his release from prison, the male protagonist Li Jun is given a VIP reception by Liang Yong, an subordinate sent by his mysterious master "Boss Nalan," and Gu Yan, the acting president of Junlin Group. This reveals his hidden identity as a "young master." In the car, Li Jun rejects his subordinate's offer to seek revenge on his ex-girlfriend Lu Qi and suspects a larger conspiracy behind his three-year imprisonment. He is then taken to Shengshi Group, valued at two hundred million yuan, a gift from his master, where he officially takes over as chairman. Meanwhile, inside the group building, his cousin Bai Wei, working as an intern, sees his back. Though she feels a sense of familiarity, she dares not acknowledge him due to his "ex-convict" status.

Li Jun, the new low-key chairman of Junlin Group, uses his prison-honed skills of reading people to expose a finance department employee's trick of using last year's reports during his first meeting. He fires the employee on the spot, stunning everyone with his decisive actions and establishing his authority. After the meeting, Li Jun declines the escort services of his subordinates Gu Yan and Liang Yong to maintain his hidden identity and leaves alone. Outside the company, he runs into his old classmate Tang Zhu, who doesn't know his true identity. Tang Zhu mistakes him for a failed job applicant and takes pity on him.

After being released from prison, protagonist Li Jun returns to his aunt's home, only to be looked down upon by his uncle Bai Jingting and disliked by his cousin Bai Wei. To get rid of him, Bai Wei, through her boyfriend Zhang Chao's connections, arranges a security guard job for him at Junlin Group. Outside the company building, Li Jun is not only publicly humiliated by Zhang Chao and Bai Wei's friends but also berated by his cousin. Facing everyone's mockery, Li Jun holds the security uniform and looks up at the Junlin Group building with a meaningful gaze, implying he is not looking up but down, foreshadowing his hidden powerful identity and future comeback.

Episode 5 - CEO of Payback

To get revenge on Li Jun, rich second-generation Zhang Chao sets a trap to drug and assault Li Jun's cousin, Bai Wei. He lures Bai Wei with the promise of helping her brother find a job, feigning concern and offering her "ginger tea" that has been drugged. Unsuspecting and grateful, Bai Wei is about to drink it. At the last moment, Li Jun arrives just in time, knocks the cup away, and swiftly punishes Zhang Chao, thwarting his scheme.

To protect his cousin Bai Wei, who was drugged, Li Jun teaches a lesson to the ill-intentioned rich second generation Zhang Chao, forcing him to drink the drug prepared by Li Jun. However, Bai Wei and her friends, unaware of the truth, misunderstand Li Jun, believing he has betrayed them and are extremely disappointed. After the incident, Li Jun receives a call from Chen Quan, an old acquaintance from prison who is now a mafia boss, revealing his extraordinary background. At the end, Zhang Chao continues to deceive Bai Wei on the street, verbally threatening and physically harassing her, setting the stage for future conflicts.

Meanwhile, in another room, the club's gangster boss, Chen Quan (Brother Quan), respectfully reports to Li Jun, his benefactor from prison. Li Jun reveals his hidden identity as the "Chairman of Junlin Group," leaving Chen Quan astonished. The scene shifts back to the main KTV room, where Zhang Chao, enraged by his friend accidentally spilling wine, brutally smashes a wine bottle on his friend, showcasing his violent side. The injured friend calls for backup, and a larger confrontation is about to erupt.

To avenge his beaten brother, Huo Dong, a triad leader in Anxi, corners rich second-generation Zhang Chao and his girlfriend Bai Wei with his men. Facing Huo Dong's overwhelming force, the once arrogant Zhang Chao immediately turns into a coward, trying to beg for mercy by invoking his father's name, but to no avail. Instead, he is subjected to humiliation. Huo Dong makes an outrageous demand: a million yuan ransom from the man, and the woman stays to sleep with him. At the critical moment, instead of protecting his girlfriend, Zhang Chao secretly calls his father for help, completely revealing his cowardly nature. This prompts Huo Dong to order him to be beaten severely. Just as Zhang Chao is on the verge of death from the beating, his father, Zhang Youde, arrives, and a new conflict is about to erupt.

Entrepreneur Mr. Zhang's son, Zhang Chao, offends triad boss Huo Dong and is held captive, with Huo Dong demanding one million. Mr. Zhang rushes over, begging humbly and attempting to negotiate, but is met with humiliation and violent threats from Huo Dong. Huo Dong pretends to agree to a reduction of two hundred thousand, but actually uses it as an excuse to threaten to chop off Zhang Chao's hands, feet, or "third leg." Under the terror of his son facing mutilation, Mr. Zhang completely breaks down and agrees to pay the full amount. Just as Huo Dong turns his attention to Bai Wei, who is present, the protagonist Li Jun unexpectedly appears, much to Bai Wei's shock.

Li Jun encounters his cousin Bai Wei and her friend Zhang Chao being bullied by a thug, Huo Dong, at a nightclub. Zhang Chao, to protect himself, reveals to Huo Dong that Li Jun is an ex-convict who just got out of prison and eggs Huo Dong on. Huo Dong attempts to humiliate Li Jun, demanding he drink and crawl under his legs. To protect his cousin, Li Jun drinks the entire bottle of liquor and then retaliates fiercely, declaring the wine to be poor and warning Huo Dong not to bully his sister. Enraged, Huo Dong makes lewd threats towards Bai Wei, pushing Li Jun to his limit. Li Jun fights back, and the conflict erupts into a full-blown brawl.
