The episode opens with the female lead, Si Nian, recalling her death at the hands of her ex-fiancé, Yang Ze, and her stepsister, Si Tian. She is then reborn a year before the tragedy after a car accident. When she's mistaken for a gold-digger by the car owner, Fu Yun Shen, and his assistant, Han Jie, Si Nian realizes that today is the day her mother was poisoned in her past life. She resolutely rejects their monetary insult, asserting her independence as someone who "is the real deal." To rush home and save her mother, she turns to Fu Yun Shen for a ride, thus beginning their new connection.

However, Fu Yun Shen remains completely unmoved. Instead, he displays absolute authority, directly ordering his subordinates to throw out the "vicious" Lin Yue Wei and her daughter, forcefully supporting Si Nian.

Si Nian, the heiress of a wealthy family, and her mother Qin Man are cornered at home by their stepmother Lin Yuewei and her daughter, who are attempting to seize power. At a critical moment, a mysterious man known as "Third Master," Fu Yunshen, appears in a wheelchair and orders his subordinates to throw Lin Yuewei and her daughter out, rescuing Si Nian. Afterward, Fu Yunshen returns specifically, using the excuse of returning Si Nian's lost bag to approach her and inquire about her age, showing unusual interest. Finally, he explicitly asks Si Nian to see him out and, while they are alone, hints that Si Nian needs to "thank" him with actions, marking the beginning of an ambiguous relationship between them.

Siennian publicly announces the cancellation of the engagement and plays a passionate video of Yang Ze and Si Tian, exposing the cheating couple and humiliating the Yang family and her stepfather Si Jianhua.
