Episode 2 - Jack of Tricks

To save his father, Gao Jian, who was framed by casino boss Old K, and to prevent his sister, Gao Wen, from being sold to Southeast Asia to cover debts, Gao Ye bravely infiltrates Old K's Black Star Casino. Gao Ye publicly exposes Old K's crimes of using the casino as a front for human trafficking and challenges Old K to a gamble, using his family's lives as the stakes. Facing Old K's humiliation and the ticking clock, Gao Ye devises a "drive the tiger to swallow the wolf" plan, deciding to approach Old K's archrival, Li Xianglan, the boss of Sihai Casino, in hopes of a slim chance of survival.

Subsequently, Gao Ye confesses to Li Xianglan that his family was harmed by Old K and expresses his desire to join forces for revenge, proposing that he take her place in a duel with Old K. Li Xianglan and her subordinates are skeptical and dismissive. She subtly steals Gao Ye's wallet, warning him that the gambling table is full of deceit. Just as Li Xianglan dismisses Gao Ye, he reveals a lighter he stole from her, proving he is also adept at such tricks, leaving a cliffhanger for their potential alliance.

Just as the father and daughter face utter despair, Li Xianglan, the boss of another faction, "Sihai," arrives with Gao Ye, directly confronting Old K. This dramatic entrance signals the imminent eruption of a larger conflict.

To rescue his father Gao Jian and sister Gao Wen, who are held captive by the Black Star Casino boss Old K, Gao Ye teams up with Li Xianglan, the boss of the Sihai Casino, and heads to Old K's territory. Old K breaks his promise and refuses to release the hostages, escalating the conflict. Li Xianglan proposes to resolve the issue with a game of "Zha Jinhua" (a poker variant), with stakes including 500,000 cash, one of Old K's establishments, and the freedom of Gao Ye's family. Despite objections from everyone, Li Xianglan surprisingly chooses the male protagonist, Gao Ye, who appears to be a novice, to compete. The game begins, and Gao Ye feigns weakness, but secretly thwarts Old K's manipulation of the cards, showcasing his hidden gambling skills and leaving Old K stunned.

This move shocks everyone present, including his allies and opponents, leaving a deep mystery about his true intentions.
