Episode 1 - Love on Layaway

Episode 2 - Love on Layaway

The episode opens with Fang Sixue, the eldest daughter of Jinxiu Pavilion, being forcibly assaulted by a mysterious, blood-covered man – Mo Tingyun, the warlord of Nancheng. Amidst coercion and resistance, Fang Sixue displays astonishing courage, not only seizing a gun to fight back but also using the alias "Li Cuihua" to respond. Afterward, Fang Sixue wakes up to find the man has left. She swears vengeance. However, as soon as she steps out of the room, she runs into her fiancé, Zhang Qiao, who publicly accuses her of "hiring a male prostitute" on the eve of their wedding. The plot ends abruptly amidst intense conflict of humiliation and confrontation.

In search of the mysterious woman he spent the night with, Nan City's warlord Mo Tingyun arrives at a brothel, guided by a dropped earring. A courtesan attempts to impersonate the woman but is immediately seen through and sternly warned by Mo Tingyun. Later, in his car, Mo Tingyun discusses his revenge plan with his adjutant, Zhou Zhiyong, revealing his true purpose is to lure and capture his enemy, Zhao Chenghuang. While pondering how to find the woman disguised as "Li Cuihua," he encounters and rescues Fang Sixue from attacking dogs outside the warlord's mansion, only to be shocked to discover she is the true owner of the earring.

To save her father, falsely imprisoned, Fang Sixue, the eldest daughter of Jinxiu Pavilion, seeks an audience with Governor Mo at the Governor's Mansion, but is blocked by Adjutant Zhou Zhiyong. Governor Mo Tingyun appears and tests her resolve with flippant remarks, which Fang Sixue fiercely rejects. With no other recourse, Fang Sixue decides to attend her ex-fiancé Zhang Qiao's wedding to find another way. Meanwhile, Mo Tingyun seems to recognize her as having another identity, "Li Cuihua." At the wedding, guests' gossip reveals the downfall of the Fang family and the inside story of Fang Sixue's broken engagement. Just as the wedding ceremony is about to commence, Fang Sixue suddenly appears and interrupts the ritual, igniting an immediate conflict.

This episode tells the story of the female protagonist, Fang Sixue, who demands the return of her dowry of five thousand silver dollars at the wedding of her former fiancé, Zhang Qiao, and her former maid, Du Juan. Just as Fang Sixue's life hangs in the balance, Nan Cheng's warlord Mo Tingyun arrives in the nick of time, shoots and kills the dogs, saving the heroine and setting the stage for future plot developments and character relationships.

Zhang Qiao mistakes him for Fang Sixue's lover and arrogantly orders his men to capture them both. During the confrontation, Zhang Qiao boasts that even the new warlord, Mo Tingyun, gives him face. Finally, as Zhang Qiao orders them to be killed, the man reveals his true identity as the new warlord Mo Tingyun, leaving Zhang Qiao and Du Juan stunned.

In this episode, Nan Cheng's warlord Mo Tingyun forcibly brings Jinxiu Pavilion's eldest daughter, Fang Sixue, back to his mansion. He domineeringly demands she become his woman, offering to clear her family's massive debt as a condition. Fang Sixue fiercely resists with a gun, but Mo Tingyun exploits her, using the chaos for her to shoot and kill a hidden assassin. As they confront each other, another enemy suddenly appears and takes Fang Sixue hostage, threatening her life to force Mo Tingyun to surrender his military power. In a moment of crisis, Mo Tingyun publicly denies Fang Sixue is his woman. When she refuses him again, he coldly allows the enemy to act, plunging the situation into extreme danger and suspense.
