Episode 2 - Same Face, New Devil

The esteemed "Emperor" Xiao Chen returns to his hometown, Hidden Dragon Village, in a convoy of luxury cars. His subordinate, Qing Que, briefs him on the grand plan for the village to be developed into a 5A-rated tourist attraction with a national investment of fifty billion. Xiao Chen reveals his choice of this location is simply because it's where he was born and raised, and he falls into memories of the past. Along the way, the convoy brakes suddenly as a man rushes out and collapses in the middle of the road. Xiao Chen gets out to investigate and is shocked to discover the man lying on the ground is his own brother, Xiao Yu, setting up a major cliffhanger for future events.

Episode 3 - Same Face, New Devil

The episode opens with a flashback to five years ago, detailing the brutal abuse suffered by brothers Xiao Chen and Xiao Yu at the hands of their mother Qiao Cuihua and stepfather Ren Youcai. Unable to bear it any longer, the brothers decide to escape with the help of their childhood sweetheart Wang Yinping. During the pursuit, the elder brother Xiao Yu sacrifices himself to cover Xiao Chen's escape, sustaining severe injuries. Five years later, Xiao Chen, now known as the "Azure Dragon Emperor," returns. After finding his severely injured brother, he is filled with rage and hatred, vowing to personally return to the village and exact his revenge.

Upon returning home victorious, Xiao Yu witnesses his mother, Qiao Cuihua, violently evicting Wang Yinping, who was guarding their ancestral home, all for her new lover, Ren Youcai. Qiao Cuihua also intends to seize the ancestral home and land sale money. Xiao Yu intervenes, only to be verbally abused and threatened by his mother. During the heated confrontation, Xiao Yu reveals his painful childhood memories of abuse by his mother and stepfather, and how he was nearly sold into a coal mine. Enraged, Qiao Cuihua slaps Xiao Yu, solidifying his resolve. He declares his severance of ties with his mother on the spot.

Xiao Chen returns home and confronts his mother, Qiao Cuihua, and stepfather, Ren Youcai, about why they sent his brother, Xiao Yu, to a mental institution. A fierce conflict erupts, and Xiao Chen, no longer the pushover he once was, retaliates forcefully. Qiao Cuihua and Ren Youcai smugly announce that they have transferred all the property and land to their own son, Ren Jianming, valuing it at five million, intending to seize all assets for themselves while thoroughly humiliating Xiao Chen. However, Xiao Chen sneers, stating their plan won't succeed, foreshadowing an upcoming revenge and counterattack.

In this episode, Xiao Yu, considered a madman by the villagers, publicly presents a renovation contract he drafted to stop the Hidden Dragon Village land acquisition project led by village chief Zhao Fugui and his mother Qiao Cuihua. Wang Yinping, who supports him, is shocked to find the contract terms clear and seemingly not forged. However, Zhao Fugui and Qiao Cuihua deem it a forgery, citing the absence of an official seal, and threaten to send Xiao Yu to a mental hospital. Just as the conflict is about to erupt, Xiao Yu's younger brother, Xiao Chen, suddenly appears, questioning the situation and bringing a new twist to the plot.

Amidst the crowd's jeers, Zhao Fugui orders the demolition to begin, and the excavator approaches the ancestral home, leaving Xiao Yu and Wang Yinping in despair.
