Wei Liang, the chief engineer, returns to the company only to witness her boyfriend and boss, Yao Yuan, being intimate with a female robot prototype. Yao Yuan claims it's just for work testing and states that robots are merely tools, denying Wei Liang's core concept of "companionship." Utterly disappointed, Wei Liang publicly announces her resignation and breakup. Enraged, Yao Yuan attempts to resort to violence but is stopped by Wei Nanfeng, a robot protecting Wei Liang. Wei Nanfeng detects a threat and enters combat defense mode.
