In this episode, Jiang Tang is accosted by the ruffian Sun Laizi while walking alone late at night. She cleverly humbles and resists him by stripping off his pants, and is subsequently rescued at a critical moment by Fu Hengjiang and his subordinates. Intrigued by Jiang Tang's daring spirit, Fu Hengjiang learns about a tragic past from five years ago: living under her uncle and aunt's roof, she was framed for her property and they cruelly murdered her beloved dog, Da Huang, forcing her to eat it. This experience profoundly changed Jiang Tang, leading her to vow to become a "shrew" for self-preservation. Fu Hengjiang, deeply sympathetic and admiring, gifts her a military knife for protection, and the two share their first heartfelt conversation under the night sky.

This episode follows Jiang Tang after she leaves the Hu family. She uses her knowledge of orders to plunge the Hu family's furniture factory into a shutdown crisis, enraging her former mother-in-law, Liu Dahua. Jiang Tang is driven away by her ex-fiancé Hu Ding'an and her former mother-in-law Liu Dahua, but her cousin Jiang Xiaojuan appears to help her. To escape her predicament and find her savior, Jiang Tang decides to impersonate the runaway Jiang Xiaojuan and marry into the Fu family. The two women swap identities: Jiang Tang (dressed in a suit) takes on the name "Xiaojuan," while the real Xiaojuan (with braided hair) assumes the name "Jiang Tang" and accompanies her. Upon entering the Fu family's mansion, Jiang Tang is astonished by their wealth. To her surprise, she discovers that her comatose husband, Fu Hengjiang, is the very person she has been desperately searching for as her savior.

Hu Ding'an temporarily endures and agrees for the sake of survival. Meanwhile, Hu Ding'an's fiancée, Zhao Hongxia, devises a malicious plan upon hearing the news. She suggests reporting Jiang Tang to the village chief for "extortion and blackmail," intending to retrieve the money through legal means and seize Jiang Tang's business. Liu Dahua strongly agrees, and the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law begin to conspire against Jiang Tang.
