Episode 1 - The Midnight Secret: Princes in Fur
A village girl rises to become the Emperor’s consort—and the mother of his heirs. But every night, her sons turn into black panther cubs no one must ever see. Trapped in a palace full of schemes, she fights to keep the truth buried… and his trust intact. Until one celebration threatens to expose everything.
Episode 2 - The Midnight Secret: Princes in Fur
Su Wanqing wakes up from a nightmare to find her son Xiao Che missing, replaced by a small black leopard. Mistaking the leopard for a demon that harmed or even devoured her son, she furiously questions it. However, upon noticing a birthmark on the leopard's paw, she is shocked to confirm that the creature is her own child. As the morning sun shines, the little black leopard transforms back into an infant. While relieved, Su Wanqing realizes that giving birth to an "inhuman" anomaly might lead to Emperor Xiao Huan misunderstanding (thinking he's been cuckolded). Just as she worries, Empress Huo suddenly bursts into the imperial chamber with her entourage.
Episode 3 - The Midnight Secret: Princes in Fur
The Empress (Clan Huo) and Noble Consort Li barge into Su Wanqing's residence. Noble Consort Li mocks Su Wanqing's peasant background and lack of etiquette. Under the pretext of palace rules, the Empress forcibly demands that the imperial prince Xiao Che be moved to a side hall to be nursed by a wet nurse upon his full moon, with the real intention of severing Su Wanqing's connection to the prince and preventing her from "gaining status through her son." Su Wanqing knows full well that Xiao Che possesses the bloodline of the Black Spirit Panther, and once separated from her, his identity is in danger of being exposed, potentially leading to his death. Therefore, she pleads desperately. In the end, the Empress remains unmoved and orders Aunt Fang to forcibly take away the prince.
Episode 4 - The Midnight Secret: Princes in Fur
Su Wanqing (Consort Su) clashes with the Empress and Consort Li when she refuses to hand over her month-old imperial son, Che'er, to the side palace for care. The Empress Dowager arrives in time and, understanding that Che'er is frail and needs to be nursed by his mother, makes an exception, allowing Su Wanqing to raise him herself. Su Wanqing then reveals a shocking secret: Che'er is human by day but transforms into a small leopard at night. While caring for the "leopard-form" prince, Su Wanqing begins to doubt the truth of the night she became pregnant. At this moment, Emperor Xiao Huan suddenly appears and questions her.
Episode 5 - The Midnight Secret: Princes in Fur
A village girl rises to become the Emperor’s consort—and the mother of his heirs. But every night, her sons turn into black panther cubs no one must ever see. Trapped in a palace full of schemes, she fights to keep the truth buried… and his trust intact. Until one celebration threatens to expose everything.
Episode 6 - The Midnight Secret: Princes in Fur
This episode details how Xiao Huan, after waking, confirms the bloodline of the First Prince Xiao Che and promotes Su Wanqing to "Cairen." Su Wanqing outwardly expresses contentment at being able to "eat meat every meal," but inwardly rejoices that her lower rank allows her to better conceal the secret of her child's beast-transformation bloodline. Xiao Huan also perceives Su Wanqing's simple-mindedness and develops feelings for her. Three years later, Su Wanqing gives birth to the Second Prince Xiao Yuan. However, on the night of the full moon, Xiao Che transforms into a black panther, and Xiao Yuan surprisingly transforms into a white beast form. Faced with both her children's beast transformations, Su Wanqing falls into extreme fear and worry, dreading that the secret's exposure will lead to a fatal disaster.
Episode 7 - The Midnight Secret: Princes in Fur
This episode tells the story of the two princes born to Su Wanqing, both possessing extraordinary abilities: the eldest prince, Xiao Che, can control his bloodline and only transforms into his beast form at midnight; while the second prince, Xiao Yuan, is inherently mischievous and often causes trouble in his young lion form. Four years have passed, and rumors spread through the palace that Su Wanqing's health is failing due to raising these two "unusual" princes. Just as Su Wanqing laments the hardships of raising children, she suddenly hears that Xiao Yuan has plucked the Empress's beloved green peony bald, sending her into a panic.
Episode 8 - The Midnight Secret: Princes in Fur
This episode sees Noble Consort Li setting a trap for Su Wanqing using the rare "Green Peony" that Emperor Xiao Huan gifted to the Empress. The Green Peony, which the Empress painstakingly nurtured for eight years to bloom, is then tricked by Noble Consort Li into being eaten by Su Wanqing's son, Xiao Yuan. Afterwards, Noble Consort Li feigns concern in front of the Empress, while subtly instigating, implying that Su Wanqing is acting recklessly due to giving birth to a royal heir, attempting to ignite the Empress's disgust towards Su Wanqing. Although the Empress stops Noble Consort Li's provocations, Noble Consort Li privately confides in her maid, Xiao Xi, that her goal is to plant a seed of doubt in the Empress's heart and reap the benefits. Meanwhile, Su Wanqing is frantic upon discovering the troublesome Xiao Yuan and scolds him as a "troublemaker."
Episode 9 - The Midnight Secret: Princes in Fur
This episode revolves around the "Flower Picking Scandal" and the palace intrigue it sparks. Second Prince Xiao Yuan, due to his playful nature, plucks the Empress's prized flowers. Consort Shu, Su Wanqing, acutely aware of the treacherous depths of the inner palace, worries incessantly and scolds Xiao Yuan severely. First Prince Xiao Che, though young, possesses a steady mind and attempts to comfort his mother. Meanwhile, Empress Huo, seeing that the flower incident has failed to stir up trouble, grows increasingly impatient. She conspires with her confidante, Aunt Fang, on a greater plot. They target Emperor Xiao Huan's extreme demand for quiet in his study and plan to use the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival banquet to lure the Second Prince into trespassing, intending to use the Emperor's hand to force Su Wanqing and her son into a deadly situation.
Episode 10 - The Midnight Secret: Princes in Fur
At the Mid-Autumn Festival family banquet, Su Wanqing attends with her two sons, Xiao Che and Xiao Yuan. Beside them, Concubine Li incessantly mocks Su Wanqing and her sons' eating habits, while the Empress Dowager solemnly delivers a speech, praying for the eternal stability of the empire. Amidst the banquet, Su Wanqing senses an unusual atmosphere and is surprised by the Empress's inaction. At this moment, her second son, Xiao Yuan, is lured away by a mysterious palace maid and gets lost. Su Wanqing knows that Xiao Yuan carries the Xuanling Black Panther bloodline, struggles with self-control at night, and his identity, if exposed, would have dire consequences. In a moment of crisis, a eunuch rushes in with news: the second prince, Xiao Yuan, has trespassed into the forbidden area – the Imperial Study.
