On the day of his release, Wu Yuanwen, the acting leader of Qingyun Gang, goes to the prison to find Lu Yan but learns he has been released early. The scene flashes back ten years ago, when Lu Yan accepted the "Life and Death Order" during a crisis for Qingyun Gang, and Old Guan promised him the next leadership position. Back in the present, Lu Yan's elder brother, Lu Liang, picks him up from prison, but is met with disdain and humiliation from his sister-in-law, Gui Fen. On the way home, Lu Liang's car is forced to stop and collide with a red sports car. Lu Yan is intercepted on the roadside by the bully Huang Batian and his accomplices.
