Episode 1 - Why I Did It

Tired of her boring job and in need of a fresh start, Zoe moves back to the city she grew up in. The plan was to get a new job, meet somebody and bring back a spark in her life. She meets Mr. Gregory on a solo night out in the city and ends up in his bed. Unknowingly to her, that innocent hookup was about to change her life and bring back that spark she was looking for, but not in a good way. She bumps into an old friend, Sophia and they become very close only for Zoe to find out the man she slept with is her friend's husband. Things get more interesting when she finds a journal which belongs to her missing brother Andrew who is a journalist...

Episode 2 - Why I Did It

Mr. Philips confronts David Roger in his office. Threatening to "engineer an accident," Mr. Philips forces David to marry his daughter, intending to secure the family business's succession through the marriage. He openly expresses extreme distrust in his own daughter's management skills, believing she would squander the family fortune within five minutes. David scoffs at this, using a proverb to mock that his daughter's reckless nature is inherited from Mr. Philips himself. Despite Mr. Philips grabbing David's collar and attempting to pressure him as a mentor and benefactor, David firmly refuses.

Episode 3 - Why I Did It

This episode features a heated family conflict. Father Roger, desperate to save their precarious family business, tries to force his daughter Sophia to marry Gregory, a man she just met in the hallway. Sophia is disgusted by this "selling her off for gain" behavior and directly calls her father selfish. The conflict escalates when Roger viciously insults Sophia's deceased/absent mother, claiming her private life was improper. Enraged, Sophia slaps her father and storms out.

Episode 4 - Why I Did It

This segment takes place in a dimly lit bar. Lana and David are in a confrontation over a forced engagement. Lana vehemently rejects marrying David, scornfully accusing him of wanting to seize her father Pendleton's assets. David, calm and sharp-tongued, bluntly states that if Lana doesn't comply with her father's wishes to marry, she will lose all inheritance rights. To achieve his goal, David throws Lana a highly tempting proposition: if they feign an alliance, Lana can preserve and control her father's company, while he will gain immense wealth from it.

Episode 5 - Why I Did It

This episode showcases the protagonist Sophia (Eliza Freeman) facing a family inheritance crisis and a forced marriage dilemma. In a bar, a mysterious man named Gregory proposes marriage to Sophia, using "reclaiming her father's company" as bait, but Sophia sternly rejects him. Afterwards, Sophia sneaks into her father Pendleton's office to search for his will, attempting to confirm her inheritance rights, only to be caught by her father on the spot. A heated argument erupts between father and daughter, with Pendleton explicitly stating he will leave Sophia nothing and forcing her to marry Gregory. Sophia realizes her father not only doesn't care about her happiness but also projects his resentment towards her mother onto her.
