Lin Wu and her bodyguard Lu Chen (actually Gu Yicheng) conspire to use the dim-witted Xu Jiaojiao against her third uncle, Lin Qiyue. At a Saturday evening appreciation banquet, Lu Chen deliberately creates an "accident" by bumping into Xu Jiaojiao. He then pretends to be dissatisfied with Lin Wu, subtly encouraging Xu Jiaojiao to bribe him. In her drunken state at the banquet, Xu Jiaojiao mocks Lin Wu's inheritance rights and insults Lin Wu and her "deceased" fiancé, Gu Yicheng. Lin Wu arrives just in time. She not only assertively declares her ownership of Lu Chen but, when Xu Jiaojiao crosses the line by insulting Gu Yicheng, Lin Wu publicly throws wine on her and slaps her, escalating the conflict.
