Li Jinglong is "cornered" by Zhou Huayue's two best friends, Qin Min and Feng Chen. The two women try to trigger his mind-reading ability through physical contact, such as tickling his back and linking arms, in an attempt to uncover Li Jinglong's secrets. Zhou Huayue appears just in time and formally introduces Li Jinglong to her best friends as her boyfriend at a dinner party. During the subsequent dinner, the three women each have their own hidden agendas. Qin Min uses "1998 Lafite" as a pretext, deliberately mentioning the 1990s Asian financial crisis in an attempt to test Li Jinglong, who possesses precognitive abilities. Feeling immense psychological pressure under the "siege" of the three women, Li Jinglong realizes that they are not simply there to have dinner, but to "see through" him.
