On his journey, protagonist Shen Shi (alias Jing Ze) met Luo Sansan and her adopted daughter Yuting. Shen Shi discovered that Yuting possessed the rare "Empty Spirit Root" constitution. While this talent is extraordinary, it also makes her highly susceptible to becoming a "dual cultivation furnace" for others. To protect Yuting, Shen Shi revealed the potential dangers of the Yuhua Sect, where she originally planned to seek mentorship. He then proactively took her as his disciple and established three rules with her. After revealing his true appearance and formidable strength, Shen Shi arranged for the mother and daughter to return to the city, promising to visit them. This officially began their master-disciple relationship and subtly hinted at Yuting's budding admiration for her master.
