Jiang Yihuai, gravely ill with a perforated stomach, stubbornly refuses medical treatment and eventually collapses in the living room. Jiang Qiting and Wang Ma discover him and rush him to the hospital. In the hospital room, Ms. Shu is extremely displeased by Su Yumian's absence, calls to verbally abuse her and orders her to come and take care of him, only to be firmly rejected by Su Yumian, who informs her they have broken up. In his delirium, Jiang Yihuai dreams of Su Yumian tenderly caring for him. Upon waking, he finds only Wang Ma by his side. Arrogantly, he believes Su Yumian wouldn't dare disobey his mother, but Wang Ma informs him that Su Yumian has blocked Ms. Shu. Shortly after, his friend Cheng Zhou arrives and mentions how Su Yumian meticulously cared for him for a month four years ago, a stark contrast to Jiang Yihuai's coldheartedness back then, a situation that evokes deep regret.
