Plot of Episode 2

The episode opens with the protagonist, Jiang Xue, in a desperate realization amidst a heavy snowfall: her two children, Feiyang and Feiran, have died from hunger and cold while she was anxiously waiting for her husband, Xie Junyao. When Xie Junyao finally appears, he shows no grief. Instead, he coldly proposes divorce to Jiang Xue, using the excuse of needing a marriage certificate to get separate rooms, so he can marry his elder brother's wife, Shen Lianzhi. Subsequently, the well-dressed Shen Lianzhi appears with her child, who is tired of eating meat buns. Her child casually discards food, creating a stark contrast with the tragic plight of Jiang Xue's family, revealing Xie Junyao's heartless betrayal and Shen Lianzhi's hypocrisy.
