While caring for her sister at the hospital, Su Nian receives a call from Manager Lin, who maliciously demotes her to a hotel cleaner for taking leave. Meanwhile, at the hospital, Old Mrs. Lu discovers a "lucky birthmark" on Su Nian and becomes convinced that she is the fortunate soul destined to carry on the Lu family line, deciding to have her marry her son, Lu Yanting. Lu Yanting, currently indulging in a hedonistic lifestyle at a bar, coldly rejects his mother's arrangement. Su Nian returns to work at the hotel, where she faces exclusion from her colleagues. Just then, Lu Yanting, the wealthiest man in the capital, arrives to inspect the hotel. Manager Lin assigns Su Nian to handle the cleaning duties in the top-floor suite, setting the stage for their inevitable first encounter.
