The episode opens with Lu Ming, the leader of the Haimen Gang, facing a blatant challenge from hall master Lei Biao. Lei Biao, citing Lu Ming's incompetence, conspires with other hall masters to seize power and proposes settling the dispute through the traditional martial arts duel of the jianghu. Incited by his subordinates, Lu Ming avoids a direct confrontation. Instead, he surprisingly introduces a new concept: "The jianghu is about human relationships and worldly wisdom." Using the backdrop of Hong Kong's return in 1997, he articulates a new path for his brothers to follow the times and earn respect. This showcases a leadership style distinctly different from traditional gangs, successfully defusing the immediate armed conflict.
