The episode opens with the female lead, Su Yi, storming out after seeing her boyfriend Meng Yuchen's intimacy with Hao Shanshan. Meng Yuchen, however, dismissively calls Su Yi a "simp" in front of his friends, confident she'll come back. Yet, Su Yi doesn't answer his calls. Heartbroken, Su Yi receives a humiliating text from Hao Shanshan, learning that the ring she cherished was a free gift. Remembering how she donated a kidney to save Meng Yuchen from a car accident and his past promises, Su Yi's heart completely dies, and she burns photos of their past together. When Meng Yuchen returns home, instead of apologizing, he gets angry because Su Yi didn't answer his calls and contemptuously tells her to learn from Hao Shanshan, completely shattering Su Yi's last illusion.
