In this episode, Lin Yang, the live-in son-in-law of the Prime Minister's mansion, faces imminent execution. In a moment of desperation, he claims he can offer "ten thousand taels of gold" to save his life. Lord Fan, a greedy official from the Ministry of Punishment, is tempted by the vast sum, though suspicious, and decides to postpone the execution, planning to seize the money and then silence Lin Yang. Lin Yang knows this is a stalling tactic and he has no wealth. After being unbound, Lin Yang is surprised to find his previously problematic leg has healed, hinting at his future plans and hidden identity.
