The episode opens with a climactic conflict. The female lead, Wen Chuxia, is coldly asked for a divorce by her husband, Ye Zihao, and is dismissed with a mere 100,000 yuan in compensation. It turns out Ye Zihao has long been colluding with Wen Chuxia's adoptive sister, Wen Pan'er. Wen Pan'er makes a grand entrance, revealing that she not only stole Ye Zihao but also seized the demolition compensation that rightfully belonged to Wen Chuxia by forging a will. Under the combined humiliation from Ye Zihao, Wen Pan'er, and her mother, Wen Chuxia recalls the sacrifices she made in the past, giving up her studies to support Ye Zihao, and his vows of eternal love. The immense betrayal and contrast break her spirit. In the end, she signs the divorce agreement, resolutely severing ties with Ye Zihao.
