Plot of Episode 4

The episode opens with Edith, in an intimate moment with her husband Nolan, humbly asking to have a child with him, attempting to transform their contractual marriage into genuine affection. However, Nolan, a fire captain, coldly rejects her, citing their "no love, no sex" contract and interrupting her. He boasts about saving Nancy from a rescue, indifferent to Edith's attempt to recount an accident at a cafe. It's only when his colleague Frankie informs him at the fire station that his wife Edith was injured in yesterday's cafe explosion that Nolan is shocked into recalling Edith's unspoken words, setting up a suspenseful plot twist.
