This episode details Shen Nian's next step in her revenge against her in-laws. She cleverly manipulates her greedy mother-in-law, Yun Niang, into believing she has swallowed copper coins. As the family frantically searches for the missing money, Shen Nian sets a booby trap, causing Yun Niang to stab her hand while greedily trying to snatch something. During the ensuing argument, Yun Niang inexplicably begins to vomit copper coins uncontrollably, a bizarre sight that shocks her husband, Chu Dingkun, and son, Chu Sheng, perfectly validating Shen Nian's earlier "curse" and escalating the family's conflict and fear to a new peak.
