Plot of Episode 5

In this episode, at the Royal Mercantile Guild, Cecily, under Isolde's orders, subjects Marian to physical punishment and humiliation under the pretext that Marian is impersonating a duchess. Duke Adrian arrives just in time to stop Cecily's malicious acts and fires her for violating the guild's values, upholding justice. Afterward, Adrian confronts Marian in private. Outraged by his previous aloofness and arrogance, Marian insists on paying off her twenty-thousand gold coin debt through her own abilities. Ultimately, the two reach an agreement: they will keep their marriage a secret in public, and Marian will stay at the guild based on her own strength.
