At the tomb of his deceased girlfriend Chen Xi, Meng Huaichen tests Xu Meili with a secret about macarons, as only Chen Xi knew he liked them. When the macarons Xu Meili (possessed by Chen Xi) made tasted just as bad as Chen Xi's used to, Meng Huaichen angrily warned her not to clumsily imitate Chen Xi. Through inner monologues and the voiceover of his senior, Du Tianmu, Chen Xi's difficult situation is revealed: Meng Huaichen is in mortal danger due to his "destiny," and she must facilitate a marriage in her new identity to save him. At the end, Meng Huaichen seems to sense the truth and directly questions her whether she is "Chen Xi" or "Xu Meili."
