The episode opens with Han Xu's assistant, Qin Shuyu (actually his twin brother Qin Shuheng), accusing Han Xu of abuse to the lawyer, seeking sympathy for the female lead Ye Qingrou. The scene flashes back to the conflict. Ye Qingrou, holding her one-year-old daughter, pleads with her husband Han Xu to see their child, but he coldly and resolutely refuses. Han Xu not only denies any relationship with his daughter but also utters malicious curses, explicitly stating he doesn't love Ye Qingrou and will give up custody. Instigated and provoked by his lover Qin Shuheng on the spot, Ye Qingrou, utterly heartbroken, decides to take Han Xu to court. Han Xu calmly accepts the challenge, and an intense lawsuit over child custody and marital breakdown is about to unfold.
