At the birthday banquet for the matriarch of the Sophonpanich family, the wealthy heiress Patty presents a jade bracelet worth 200,000 Thai baht, winning her grandmother's favor. The grandmother not only praises Patty's taste publicly but also demands her grandson, Kirin, marry her soon to help the family prosper. This sparks dissatisfaction from Pakin's mother, Wasana, who reminds the grandmother that Pakin is the eldest grandson. However, the grandmother publicly humiliates Wasana's family, citing Pakin's wife, Mira, as a "country daughter-in-law" who contributes nothing. Kirin also seizes the opportunity to add insult to injury, mocking his aunt's family for daring to discuss family matters without bringing a gift.
