The episode opens with a heated family conflict. Qian Qiutang, a relative from a collateral branch of the Qian family, questions his adoptive father, Qian Gandang, about his favoritism towards his adopted daughter, Qian Zhaozhao, which displeases Old Master Qian, who intends to discipline the "disrespectful" Zhaozhao with family law. Warlord Qian Gandang forcefully defends his daughter, drawing his gun and declaring that his rules are his pistol. Relatives Qian Zonglong and Fang Shuanghua attempt to mediate but are instead humiliated by Qian Gandang and his daughter. When Fang Shuanghua curses Zhaozhao, Zhaozhao surprisingly draws her own small pistol, pointing it at Fang Shuanghua and imitating her father's overbearing behavior, threatening to invite everyone to a funeral feast, causing the situation to spiral out of control.
