Plot of Episode 9

The episode opens with Xu Yanqing's sister, An An, gravely ill and bedridden, filled with despair and contemplating ending her life. Xu Yanqing comforts her heartbrokenly by her bedside. A heartwarming flashback to twelve years ago, when the sisters relied on each other, intensifies the present sorrow and helplessness. To obtain life-saving medicine for her sister, Xu Yanqing waits for hours outside the mansion of the male protagonist, Yu Zhi. She finally meets Yu Zhi (referred to as "Young Master"), who is playing billiards with a cold demeanor. Xu Yanqing resolutely proposes a deal with him, setting a suspenseful prelude for the subsequent plot.
