Episode 2 - Power Trip: Round Two

The episode opens with Wen Yueting, Wen Ming, and Zhao Xiaoyue in fear after unintentionally offending the male lead, Jiang Feng, only to be shocked to discover he is the legendary and immensely powerful "King of Jiangnan." After effortlessly eliminating a group of assassins, Jiang Feng orders his subordinate, Qing Tang, to investigate the mastermind behind the leak of his whereabouts. Qing Tang recovers the "Seven Kill Order" from the assassins, confirming they belong to "Seven Killers," the foremost assassin organization in the Southern Kingdom. Jiang Feng dismisses them as "vermin" and orders a thorough investigation, demonstrating his unquestionable absolute authority in the Jiangnan region.

The episode opens with the protagonist, Jiang Feng, known as the "King of Jiangnan," returning to Jiangnan accompanied by his subordinate, Qing Tang. Five years after being humiliatingly driven away, he is now determined to seek revenge. Meanwhile, while Jiang Feng is paying respects to his deceased father, his aunt feigns comfort and serves him a bowl of porridge, claiming it will help him inherit the family headship. After drinking it, Jiang Feng is shocked to realize the porridge is poisoned by his aunt's sinister smile and his own discomfort. The plot ends abruptly with Jiang Feng in a life-threatening state from poisoning.

Jiang Jingtai, the head of the Jiang family, hosts a celebration banquet to mark the family's acquisition of the Governor-General's mansion project and the construction of the Xunde Pavilion for the new "King of Jiangnan." Amidst the guests' flattery, Jiang Jingtai, beaming with pride, announces the presence of the mysterious King of Jiangnan at the banquet, sending the atmosphere into a frenzy. Just as everyone believes the Jiang family is about to reach unprecedented heights, the protagonist Jiang Feng, whom the Jiang family had abandoned (but is in fact the King of Jiangnan himself), suddenly appears and publicly declares that Jiang Jingtai's death is imminent, instantly igniting the entire venue and kicking off his revenge.
