This episode unfolds in flashback, recounting the youthful days of male protagonist Lu Xiao and female protagonist Su Yue living together in the mountains. Punished by his senior sister Su Yue to copy books for being playful, Lu Xiao, at night, described the bustling world outside the mountains to Su Yue and clumsily expressed his concern for her future and his nascent feelings. Although Su Yue appeared stern on the surface, her inner monologue after Lu Xiao fell asleep revealed her identity as an abandoned infant, her confusion about the future, and her gratitude towards their master, laying the groundwork for their relationship and subsequent plot.
