In an ancient Taoist temple, the young Lu Xiao is forced to kneel, protesting his unwilling apprenticeship. However, the white-haired, long-bearded Master Chuxin dismisses his pleas, formally accepting Lu Xiao as his disciple based on "conclusive evidence." Master Chuxin immediately lays down two ironclad rules for Lu Xiao: First, absolute loyalty to the sect for life, belonging to the sect in life and death; Second, he must take good care of his senior sister, Su Yue. Lu Xiao can only silently accept this unyielding fate.
