At a charity gala filled with elegance, Xie Qinqin, adopted by the Xie family, publicly humiliates Xu Xiaoxiao, an orphan like herself, calling her an imposter and forcing her to kneel. To reclaim the only heirloom left by her parents – a jade pendant – Xu Xiaoxiao endures the humiliation. Xie Qinqin and her accomplice Xie Zhengqi, among others, force-feed her iced wine. However, after Xu Xiaoxiao finishes the wine, Xie Qinqin breaks her promise and shatters the jade pendant in front of everyone.
