The impoverished Fu family welcomed their long-awaited youngest daughter, Fu Jiujiu. On the very day of her birth, a series of strange events occurred at home: the sons returned from hunting with bountiful catches, withered trees blossomed and bore fruit, and hens began laying eggs. Father Fu Baiwan, overjoyed, believed his daughter was a "lucky star," but his eldest sister-in-law, Mrs. Zhou, who had been unable to bear a son, felt jealous and considered a girl a "money pit." However, when Mrs. Zhou held baby Jiujiu, her attitude began to soften. Meanwhile, baby Jiujiu, who possessed a clear consciousness, smelled a suspicious medicinal scent on her eldest sister-in-law, sensing a hidden conspiracy against her within the family, thus setting up suspense for the plot.
