This episode follows Daoist priest Chu Xuan, seeking to break through his current limitations, as he arrives at the Anning Street Police Station hoping to become a police officer. Faced with the tedious official procedures introduced by policewoman Qing Ning, Chu Xuan becomes impatient. Shortly after, the team captain, Xia Hai, appears and, due to Chu Xuan's lack of conventional qualifications, expresses doubt and attempts to dismiss him. To prove his worth, Chu Xuan demonstrates his Daoist magical abilities, including Qimen Dunjia and talismans. He then claims he can summon the spirits of the deceased to assist in investigations, leaving the present officers stunned and setting the stage for his unconventional entry into the force.
