Plot of Episode 5

The episode opens with daughter-in-law Hao Xiaoyue and son Wang Yang arguing fiercely in the bedroom, complaining that mother Li Xiulan lacks "boundaries" and is disturbing their lives. When Li Xiulan is discovered outside the door, she is accused by the couple of eavesdropping and is publicly shamed. Subsequently, through Li Xiulan's narration, her past life of being submissive and hardworking to her son and daughter-in-law is revealed, a life of being a pushover. The plot reaches its climax when Li Xiulan, after experiencing a tragic end in her past life, is reborn and awakens, determined not to tolerate mistreatment any longer. After her rebirth, she immediately shows concern for her husband Wang Shouye's health, hinting that she will change their fate and prevent the tragedy from repeating.
