On the eve of Lin Yuan's wedding to Xu Yuanyuan, Xu Yuanyuan, using "lack of trust" as an excuse, successfully manipulated Lin Yuan with fake tears and cooing, claiming her ID was in the study downstairs. While Lin Yuan outwardly apologized repeatedly and urged her to proceed with the company transfer, he had already seen through Xu Yuanyuan's plot with Huang Saifei to seize his assets. Lin Yuan's inner monologue expressed his anger as an experienced player who had been "pecked in the eye by an eagle," and he decided to play along and "have some fun" with the betrayers. The two then went to the living room, where Xu Yuanyuan feigned concern, telling Lin Yuan to rest while she went upstairs to get the documents, thus kicking off the revenge drama.
