To support her husband Pei Si'an, Xie Molan, the second daughter of the Xie family, stakes all her assets and makes a bet with her elder sister Xie Minglan: if Pei Si'an wins the Spring Banquet, Xie Minglan must kneel and apologize; otherwise, she herself will be punished. After the news spread, their father, Xie Zhiyuan, believing Xie Molan's one-sided account, furiously scolds Xie Minglan. However, Xie Minglan, relying on her current distinguished status as the First Prime Minister's wife and Pei Si'an's aunt, calmly retaliates, pointing out that her father's demand for her to kneel violates propriety and law, and would implicate the family, successfully intimidating her biased father.
