This episode features a fierce confrontation over the division of assets between the Windsor and Gray families. Theodore, the elder of the Windsor family, furiously denounces the Gray family's shameless greed, accusing them of trying to seize Freya's inheritance and humiliate her. Faced with these accusations, and prompted privately by his mistress Olivia, Elliott learns that his family has actually relied on Freya's private wealth for years to sustain themselves, including paying for his mother's expensive medical bills. Although Elliott initially feels a pang of guilt, he is insidiously manipulated by Olivia into choosing so-called dignity and self-interest. He publicly breaks his promise and announces the forcible seizure of half of Freya's property. Witnessing the utter lack of moral bottom line in the Gray family, Freya becomes completely disillusioned and decides to stop preserving their public decency, officially raising the curtain on her revenge.
