This episode depicts the conflict between the Li brothers and Chen Hao, and its aftermath. Li Mingxuan, to quell the situation, apologizes to Chen Hao, the son of the Minister of War, on behalf of his mischievous younger brother, Li Mingyu. Though unwilling, Chen Hao is frightened away, crying that he will go home to complain. Just as Li Mingwei is about to leave with Li Mingyu, Regent Xie Jingyuan appears to stop them. Li Mingwei (in the guise of Li Chunhua) confronts the Regent without subservience, questioning if he intends to eliminate them all, while the Li brothers desperately protect their sister. Xie Jingyuan, seeing "Li Chunhua" whose personality bears a striking resemblance to the deceased Li Mingwei, falls into deep thought and complex probing.
