Madam Sunny takes Hilary to a jewelry store to pick out some accessories. Facing the dazzling array of treasures, Hilary only points out a few items. Madam Sunny, displaying the domineering air of a wealthy matriarch, orders everything else to be packed up. Just then, Beta Andrew rushes in to report that Alpha Aldrich is on his way. Madam Sunny jokingly suggests letting Aldrich pick up the tab, then tactfully leaves with Andrew, giving the pair some privacy. Looking at Nelson, Hilary feels a stir in her heart as she remembers he was the first person in this world to save her. However, thinking of Aldrich’s disdain for their engagement, she decides to put aside her unrealistic fantasies and content herself with being a quiet ornament.
