Plot of Episode 9

After falling into the water, Xiao Jing and Qin Tang take refuge on a flower boat. Qin Tang, having been forcibly fed an aphrodisiac known as Beauty’s Draught, becomes delirious and begins to tease Xiao Jing. She calls him Little Seven and vows to poison the dog emperor before taking him back to the Northwest. Meanwhile, Ying Mo launches a mutiny in the palace under the pretext of the Emperor and Empress going missing, effectively sidelining the Empress Dowager to purge those around the throne. On the flower boat, Liu Dequan tracks them down, only to stumble upon the awkward scene of Qin Tang pinning Xiao Jing down. As assassins close in, Xiao Jing decisively knocks out the rambling Qin Tang and orders the boat to be set ablaze to destroy any traces, preparing to face the chaos erupting in the palace.
