This episode opens by introducing Xie Youwei, the female protagonist with a "lucky woman" constitution. She brings good fortune to those who treat her kindly and misfortune to those who bully her. Qiu Xiaodong, the son of the Minister of Revenue, bullies her and her frail adoptive father, Prince Xian Xie Zhixun, while trying to snatch Xie Youwei's "marbles." However, he is backfired by Xie Youwei's luck and ends up in an embarrassing situation. The "marbles" Xie Youwei retrieves are actually spiritual stones from the celestial realm. She hopes to use them to heal her adoptive father's leg. When she learns of her adoptive father's return, she excitedly rushes to meet him, but accidentally bumps into his injured leg, casting a slight shadow over their warm reunion.
