Edith arrives at the fire station looking for her husband, Nolan, but first encounters his colleague, Frankie, who has never met her. Stunned by Edith’s beauty, Frankie marvels at how well Nolan has kept such a remarkable wife hidden. Soon after, Nolan rushes in carrying a bag filled with baby supplies—diapers and a teddy bear—looking visibly flustered. Upon seeing Edith safe and sound, he is struck by deep shock and guilt. He explains that he saw her name on a casualty list from yesterday's explosion at the café and questions whether she was there. Faced with a husband full of suspicious secrets and potential infidelity, Edith remains calm and resolute, immediately demanding a divorce.
