Plot of Episode 6

This episode depicts Zhao Qi's sister Huilan and younger brother Xiaohu facing malicious slander from villagers Zhou Chunmei and Li Xiufang at their doorstep. The two falsely accuse Zhao Qi of selling Huilan to a brothel and using the money to buy a rabbit for his lover, the widowed Wang. Facing humiliation, Xiaohu bravely defends his brother, while Huilan, recovering from initial misunderstanding and grief, rallies herself. Armed with a sickle, she fiercely retaliates, verbally striking back at the two women. Ultimately, Xiaohu presents a bloody rabbit hide as evidence, shattering the rumors. Huilan, with her brother, departs to exchange the rabbit hide for grain, leaving the furious villagers cursing behind.
