While resting on the tennis court, Kevin White is humiliated and driven away by the arrogant rich kid Bryce Hurst and his cronies. His coach, Dale Johnson, intervenes just in time to rescue him and shows him a poster for a tennis tournament with a $100,000 prize, offering Kevin a new glimmer of hope to continue his studies. However, upon returning home, Kevin learns from his mother, Betty, that she has been diagnosed with lung cancer and can no longer work. Faced with soaring medical bills and the heavy burden of supporting his family, Kevin decides to go all in and win the tennis tournament to provide for his mother.
